COAS Visits Governor Uba Sani, Hails Success of Kaduna Peace Model
Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, and senior officers of the Nigerian Army, on Friday, visited Governor Uba Sani ahead of the Army Day Celebration on Saturday in Kaduna.
Oluyede commended the state government for its inclusive governance style and the success of the Kaduna Peace Model, which has contributed significantly to restoring peace and security across the state.
He expressed appreciation to the government for its continued support to the Nigerian Army and other security agencies operating in Kaduna State.
In his remarks, Governor Uba Sani commended the COAS for his dedication to duty and the Nigerian Army for its role in promoting unity, peace, and development across the country.
“The Army’s sacrifices in defending our nation against criminal elements remain deeply appreciated. Nigerians owe our troops immense gratitude for their service and courage,” he added.
He acknowledged the Army’s contributions to improved security in Kaduna state through effective collaboration with other agencies.
“Our Kaduna Peace Model has delivered tangible results, especially in previously troubled communities. We will continue to provide logistical support and deepen partnerships to sustain the progress made.
“Kaduna continues to serve as both a home and strategic hub for the Nigerian Armed Forces, with most officers having undergone training at the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Kaduna, or the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji, at some point in their careers.
“On behalf of the government and people of Kaduna State, I warmly welcome the Nigerian Army to our state for the 2025 Army Day Celebration. We wish them a successful celebration and a pleasant stay in Kaduna.
“May this occasion further strengthen our shared commitment to a secure and united Kaduna State, and Nigeria,” Uba Sani said.
