Dangote Varsity expels 34 students for examination misconduct 
The Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, Wudil has expelled about 34 students for involving in examination misconduct.
This university’s Head of Information, Publications and Public Relations Unit, Malam Abdullahi Datti, stated this in a statement on Friday in Kano.
Datti said that the had also rusticated 13 other students for a period of one year while others were issued with warning letters.
He said the action followed the university’s senate approval of the report of the Examinations Regulations and Irregularities Committee (ERIC) for the First Semester 2024/2025 Academic Session.
“The Senate of Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, Wudil at its 123rd Meeting held on 9th October, 2025 approved the Report of the Examinations Regulations and Irregularities Committee (ERIC) for the First Semester 2024/2025 Academic Session.
“The report includes recommendations for different kinds of punishments for students who were found to have engaged in examination malpractice,” Datti said.
He said that the university had also a established a new Centre for Equipment Maintenance to develop and implement a rigorous preventive maintenance schedule for all academic and research equipment to ensure reliability and minimize downtime.
“The Centre is meant to provide prompt and efficient repair services for malfunctioning or damaged equipment with a view to restoring them to optimal working conditions.
“In addition, the centre is also expected to offer regular training programmes for staff, and students on the proper use and basic maintenance of equipment to reduce the risk of misuse and damage.
“The Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Musa Yakasai has approved the appointment of Engr. Dr. Murtala Sule Dambatta of the Department of Mechanical Engineering as the pioneer Director of the Centre,” he added.
