The Jigawa State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) felicitates the Jigawa State Government and the Muslim community on the occasion of this year’s Eid- el-Fitr celebration.
In a statement jointly signed by the State Chairman, Comrade Ismai’la Ibrahim Dutse, and Acting Secretary, Comrade Aminu Umar Shuwajo, the Council congratulated the Muslim Ummah on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast.
The Council called for peaceful coexistence, unity, and harmony, urging residents to sustain the efforts of Gov. Umar A. Namadi in promoting peace across the state.
The NUJ commended the Governor for the early payment of March salaries, which enabled workers to celebrate the Eid in a joyful atmosphere, and urged continued public support for government development initiatives.
The Union also extended goodwill to government officials, traditional rulers, labour leaders, and the entire Muslim community, while praying for divine guidance and wisdom for leaders at all levels.
The Council further praised the introduction of the Workers’ Agricultural Loan Scheme, describing it as a strategic initiative to empower civil servants through access to inputs and flexible financing. It noted that the programme will improve livelihoods, boost income, and enhance post-retirement security.
Members were encouraged to take full advantage of the initiative to secure their economic future. The NUJ also commended the Governor’s investment in agriculture, which has expanded farming activities, increased cultivated land, and strengthened the state’s economy.
Finally, the Council wished all Muslims a peaceful and blessed Eid al-Fitr, urging continued promotion of unity, love, and collective progress across the state and the nation.
