Emir of Katsina Hosts ACF Executives, Calls for Restoration of North’s Lost Glory

The Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Abdulmumin Kabir Usman, has emphasized the need for more concerted efforts to restore the lost glory of Northern Nigeria.

He made the call while receiving the newly elected executives of Katsina State Chapter of Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), led by its Chairman, Alhaji Shehu Musa Malumfashi, during a courtesy visit.

Alhaji Abdulmumin Kabir Usman said stakeholders must be proactive in restoring the good image of Northerners in areas such as peaceful coexistence, education, agriculture, and other sectors of human development.

The Emir expressed delight over the formation of the Katsina State Chapter of the ACF, which, he noted, would contribute to addressing the challenges affecting people in the region.

Describing the forum as an integral part of the Katsina Emirate, he charged the executives to work hard and develop initiatives aimed at enhancing unity and development among the people.

He further assured the forum that his doors would remain open for consultations on the way forward, noting that its activities are purely in service to humanity. He also pledged to provide office accommodation to enable the forum to effectively discharge its duties.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the Katsina State Chapter of the ACF, Alhaji Shehu Musa Malumfashi, explained that the purpose of the visit was to introduce the newly elected executives to the Emir and to seek his fatherly advice.

He stated that the Katsina State Chapter of the ACF was formed in 2024 with leaders serving in an acting capacity, and that the new officials were elected three months ago.

According to him, part of the forum’s activities is to create public awareness on issues of national concern through consultations, with the overall aim of advancing development in Northern states.

He disclosed that the forum recently sponsored some children for typhoid fever surgery at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Katsina, procured medication for distribution to health facilities, and produced jingles on the importance of voter registration. He also requested office accommodation for the forum from the Katsina Emirate.

Earlier, the Ɗanwairen Katsina and Publicity Secretary of the forum, Alhaji Sada Rumah, noted that the forum boasts over 400 members, including prominent personalities.

He highlighted the forum’s objectives and commended the Emir of Katsina for his commitment to the establishment and success of the state chapter of the Arewa Consultative Forum.
