Emir of Potiskum visits Sanusi in Kano
The Emir of Potiskum,Alhaji Umar Bubaram Ibn Bauya, has appealed to the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II, to assist toward the completion of the Mosque at his Palace in Potiskum.
Bauya said this when he visited Sanusi at his Gidan Rumfa Palace,Kano, on Sunday.
“We are seeking your usual support for the completion of a Juma’at Mosque at my palace which we started about three years ago but the project has been stalled by some financial difficulties.We hope that you will help us,as usual, to complete it,” he said.
Bauya, also the first Northern Emir to visit Sanusi, said the visit was to extend his support to Sanusi who doubled as the Nigerian Spiritual Leader of the Tijjaniyya Islamic sect.
He reminded Sanusi that history was repeating itself with his second coming as the Emir of Kano.
“This kind of historic development happened to me some 26 years ago and with the help of Allah I was returned as Emir and I am living peacefully with my people.
“The return of Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II is a significant milestone that justified that he is a good leader who thinks and acts for his people.As such, he should count on my personal support and that of my people,” the emir said.
Responding, Sanusi thanked Bauya for the visit his palace saying it was a show of solidarity.
He said this was a vindication of the fact that there was unity and togetherness among them and which would impact positively on their respective lives and security of their people.
