Flooding: Gov. Buni Commissions Swamp Buggy To Excavate Yobe River

Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni has deployed an Amphibious Swamp Buggy excavator to clear typha grass on Yobe-Komadugu river hindering free flow of water and flooding of downstream communities annually in the state.
The governor explained that the swamp buggy be used uproot the grass and other plants blocking the flow of water.
He added that it would also be used to desilt the water channels to increase the flow of water.
“This machine would remove plants on the water and excavate the water ways to increase water flow via the channels to minimise flooding of farms and houses.
“The yearly problem of floods taking over farmlands and communities due to forceful diversion of water from the rivers by blockage, would be a thing of the past” Governor Buni added.
