Gidan Mantau Tragedy: ACF Commends Gov Radda, Urges Citizens’ Support

The Katsina State chapter of Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has commended the state governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda for the effective handling of the tragic attack by bandits in Gidan Mantau village of Malumfashi Local Government.

In a statement issued by the state ACF Chairman, Alhaji Shehu Musa Dankano, the pan northern group said that the governor had demonstrated leadership by visiting the community immediately after his return from a medical leave abroad.

The ACF urged citizens not to politicise issues of security, stating that what is required for every citizen is to support the government and security as they strive to deal with the security challenges.

It added that citizens should collaborate with local leaders to enhance security of communities across the state.

“We particularly appreciates the Governor’s condolence visit to the Mantau community, as well as his commitment to construct an access road, a school and a hospital. Equally commendable is his decision to reconstruct the community mosque and extend support to the bereaved families.

“The Katsina State chapter of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) fully aligns with Governor Radda’s view that security issues must not be politicised. As the governor rightly observed, “security is our collective responsibility”.

“We therefore call on the good people of Katsina State to stand firmly behind the government in its efforts to restore peace and ensure lasting security. We also urge everyone to extend maximum support to our security agencies who are working tirelessly to safeguard lives and property.

“Citizens are further advised to remain vigilant and to work hand-in-hand with traditional rulers and community leaders in fostering a peaceful atmosphere across the state,” the ACF said in the statement.
