Gov. Lawal appoints Commandant for Zamfara Community Protection Guard

Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has appointed retired Liuetenat Colonel Rabi’u Yandoto as the State Commandant of the newly established Community Protection Guards (CPG), a local security outfit.
A statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Malam Abubakar Nakwada on Friday in Gusau also said two retired majors,
Muhammad Adamu and Ahmed Shinkafi would serve as Deputy and Assistant State Commandants, respectively.
Adamu will be in charge of administration while Shinkafi will be responsible for logistics.
“Among the appointees are the Guards Commanders for the 14 Local Government Areas of the state,” the SSG added.
A total of 2,645 members of the CPG were recently deployed for community policing duties across the state which has been experiencing massive banditry and kidnapping for more than two decades.
