Gov. Radda to set up task force to regulate food prices

Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State says the state government will set up a task force to regulate food prices in the state.

The governor made this known in Katsina after an expanded security council meeting held on Friday.

“Earlier today, I summoned a comprehensive emergency security meeting, inviting all relevant stakeholders, to address the concerning issue of escalating food prices in our State.

“The meeting was well-attended, with the presence of heads of security agencies, state executive council members, traditional leaders, religious leaders and leaders of grain producers and sellers associations.

“I am deeply concerned about the intensifying food crises that our people are enduring due to the deliberate scarcity of food items caused by the actions of a few unpatriotic individuals.

“One of the key resolutions made during the meeting involved the establishment of a “Task Force Committee,” which will soon unveil its members and terms of reference.

“Rest assured, my government is committed to implementing all necessary measures to provide relief to the people and will employ every possible means to address the situation and stabilize the prices,” the governor said.
