Gov. Sani Donates Vehicles To New University of Applied Sciences In Kachia
Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has donated vehicles to the newly established Federal University of Applied Sciences, Kachia, which will commence academic activities in September.
The donation was in fulfillment of the state government’s pledge to give necessary logistical support to the university to smoothen its take-off.
The Syndicate reports that the governor presented the vehicles, comprising a bus for students, and official cars for the Pro-Chancellor and the Vice Chancellor, during a meeting with the university’s board members, at Sir Kashim Ibrahim House Kaduna on Saturday.
“The formal presentation was made when I held a meeting with the institution’s Board members and stakeholders to review progress so far made and to strengthen collaboration between the Kaduna State Government and the university,” Governor Sani said.
The Syndicate reports that board members were led by the Pro-Chancellor, Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah.
“Our administration is committed to supporting the university through the provision of infrastructure like roads for better access.
“We are also working with security agencies to ensure a safe and secure learning and teaching environment, while engaging federal stakeholders and partners to fast-track the university’s growth and operational readiness,” he said.
The governor described the new university as a beacon of hope, a catalyst for change and a vehicle for transforming the socio-economic landscape of the region.
“We shall continue to work closely with the management team to ensure that the institution fulfills its mission to develop practical knowledge, advance innovation, and empower future generations,” he added.
During the meeting, both the Pro-Chancellor and Vice Chancellor commended the state government for its unwavering support, especially in facilitating the establishment of the university and preparing it ahead of the admission of its pioneer students.
They said that the proactive backing from the state has been instrumental in laying a strong foundation for the institution’s takeoff.
