Gov. Yusuf declares Monday as public holiday
Kano, July 6, 2024 Gov. Abba Yusuf of Kano State has declared Monday, July 8 as a Public Holiday to commemorate the beginning of the Islamic Year, 1446 AH.
This is contained in a statement by Alhaji Baba Dantiye, the state’s Commissioner for Information on Saturday in Kano.
“The State Governor has declared Monday, July 8 as Public Holiday to mark the beginning of the new Islamic calendar 1446 AH.
“He enjoined the people to utilise the period to reflect on the previous year and to commit themselves to mutually beneficial activities that will help to bring succour to the society in this trying times.
“He stated that the government will continue to initiate policies and programmes that would empower the people to make them self dependents.
He urged the Muslim Ummah to intensify prayers for continued peace and progress of the state, ” Dantiye said. Ends
