Gov. Yusuf disburses N50,000 to 5,200 Kano women

 

 

Gov. Abba Yusuf of Kano State has disbursed N50,000 to 5,200 women under another batch of the state program aimed at empowering women across the 44 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the state.

Speaking at the ceremony, Yusuf said empowering women was central to his administration’s development vision, saying that the beneficiaries were carefully selected to ensure equitable representation and maximum community impact.

He said programme underscored his commitment to reducing poverty, strengthening small-scale enterprises, and promoting self-reliance among vulnerable women.

“This support is designed to help women expand small businesses, stabilize their households, and contribute meaningfully to our state’s economy,” he said.

He emphasized that women were key drivers of social and economic progress, and that his government would continue to implement policies that enhance their productivity and independence.

The Chairperson of the state chapter of Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Hajiya Saadatu Yusha’u ,hailed the initiative as a “landmark in grassroots empowerment,” commending the governor for prioritizing women’s welfare and economic growth.

Yusha’u urged the beneficiaries to utilize the money wisely to transform their livelihoods and support his administration’s vision for sustainable community development.

The ceremony featured the symbolic presentation of the empowerment funds to selected women from different local government areas marking the official commencement of the monthly disbursement across the state.
