Governor Alia Appoints Pioneer Head of Education Quality, Exams Board
The Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, has approved the appointment of Dr. Terna Francis, as the pioneer Executive Secretary of the Benue Education Quality Assurance and Examinations Board.
The appointment takes immediate effect.
The establishment of the Benue Education Quality Assurance and Examinations Board follows the recent passage of a law by the Benue State House of Assembly merging the former Bureau for Education Quality Assurance and the defunct Benue State Examinations Board into a single, more robust institution.
The strategic merger is part Governor Alia’s unwavering commitment to strengthening the education sector and ensuring that Benue children receive holistic, high-quality, and competitive education that will make them to excel anywhere in the world.
Governor Alia congratulated Dr. Francis on this well-deserved appointment and charged him to bring his wealth of experience, integrity, and innovation to bear in repositioning the state’s educational assessment and quality framework.
The Governor further enjoined him to pursue excellence, be transparent, and accountable in all his undertakings, in line with the administration’s vision of a renewed and result driven education system.
The Governor reiterated that education remains a top priority of his administration, as such the Board must serve as a catalyst for continuous improvement, discipline, and quality standards across all levels of learning in the state.
