A women support group for President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima, has hailed the contributions of Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin to the unity and development of Northern Nigeria.

The group led by Barrister Aisha Kaita said in a statement that Jibrin has stood firm as a key unifier and promoter of political cohesion in the region.

The statement signed by the Media Coordinator of the group, Comrade Ahmed Illah, and made available to The Syndicate in Dutse, the Jigawa state capital, said the Deputy Senate President has always demonstrated unwavering commitment to inclusive governance and participatory democracy.

The group commended Jibrin for his active participation in the Jigawa State Citizens’ Engagement Programme and comments he made on Governor Umar Namadi’s leadership.

The programme tagged “Gwamnati da Jama’a”, was recently held in Sule Tankarkar Local Government Area of Jigawa State under the leadership of Governor Namadi.

According to the group, “Senator Jibrin’s attendance at this important forum is both timely and significant. It reflects a strong commitment to participatory governance and to strengthening the bond between leaders and the people they serve.”

The Senator had said he was deeply impressed by the leadership of Governor Namadi and his level of transparency, which he described as “both rare and commendable, reflecting honesty and responsible governance”.

“As an accountant, I recognise the importance of openness in public administration. I take pride in the leadership and example that Governor Namadi is setting for others to emulate,” the group quoted him as saying at the forum.

They expressed appreciation to both the Deputy Senate President and the Jigawa State Governor for their dedication to strengthening the links between the government and the governed.

“This kind of initiative,” the group emphasized, “promotes direct dialogue between public officials and citizens, ensuring accountability and fostering trust in governance.”

The group reaffirmed its commitment to supporting leaders like Senator Jibrin and Governor Namadi, whose actions reflect the vision of the Tinubu-led administration, and a united, progressive Nigeria.
