Hadejia Ina Mafita Initiative Honours FUGA Vice-Chancellor

A local community group in Jigawa State, Hadejia Ina Mafita Initiative, has offered an award of excellence to the Vice-Chancellor of Federal University Gashua (FUGA) in Yobe State, Professor Maimuna Waziri.

The award, presented to the vice-chancellor by Dr. Hussaini Shehu, the Vice Chairman of Hadejia Ina Mafita Initiative, was in recognition of her outstanding leadership qualities and contributions to higher education in Nigeria.

A statement signed by Malam Adamu Saleh, Head, Information and Protocol Unit of the University, reported Dr. Shehu as saying that Professor Waziri’s visionary leadership has significantly impacted the university’s growth and advancement within a few years of its existence.

He said that the group was committed to supporting efforts that promote academic excellence and community development.

In her response, Professor Waziri expressed gratitude to the group for the recognition and pledged to steer the university to excel in innovation and research, and other areas of academic development.
