Hamas leader, Ismail Haneyya, says what the Israeli occupation forces and the US could not achieve on the ground in Palestine, will not be achieved through political machinations.
Haneyya said this in a speech on Wednesday at the launch of the annual report of Al-Quds International Foundation.
He stressed that the Palestinian people have confronted the over four months Israeli aggression with historical valor, despite the power imbalance.
According to him, the resistance has foiled the Israeli enforced displacement plans against Palestinians in Gaza City and northern Gaza, as 700,000 people are still residing there.
The Hamas leader said the resistance will persist in its battle to stop Israeli occupation.
Haneyya hailed the resistance for “being able to engage in fierce battles after 145 days of the genocidal war in which the Zionist occupier is carrying out the most horrific crimes known to humanity, including murder, extermination, displacement, torture, field executions, attacking hospitals and premature babies, starvation and assaulting humanitarian and media teams.”
He called on Arab and Islamic nations to foil the starvation war against the Palestinian people and appreciated the initiatives to provide relief aid to the trapped residents of Gaza and other places.
Haneyya stressed the need to allow sustainable entry of food aid and other supplies to the Gaza population and to build aid bridges that would end the people’s suffering and save them from the starvation conspiracy.
The Hamas leader explained that the resistance had fought the Battle of Al-Aqsa Flood in defence of Jerusalem and to deter Israeli attempts to liquidate the Palestinian cause.
“The minimum that we accept in Al-Aqsa Mosque and other Islamic and Christian sanctities is adherence to the status quo in accordance with international law which stipulates the continuation of the status of the sanctities as they were before June 4, 1967.”
Haneyya also called on Arab and Muslim nations to participate in confronting the Israeli aggression.
The Hamas leader appealed to Palestinians in occupied Jerusalem, the West Bank and all parts of the 1948 Occupied Palestine, to visit Al-Aqsa Mosque during the holy month of Ramadan to perform prayers and break the siege by Israel on the holy site.
