N60bn released to Ibom Air to acquire two CRJ900 aircrafts – Eno

 

Ibom Air has received N60 billion lifeline from the Akwa Ibom State Government to acquire two new planes as part of the company’s expansion plans.

 

The release of the funds was announced by Governor Umo Eno during a meeting of Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio, a socio-cultural organisation.

He said that the intervention was part of deliberate efforts of government to invest in key areas of the economy.
The governor said the state has so far being executing capital projects without borrowing due to prudent management of its funds.
“Our state must have an investment fund. We must deliberately and intentionally put away funds to reinvest and put our state amongst the states that will continue to take the lead,” Uno added.

He also announced that the government has released N35 billion to pay about 50 percent of accumulated gratuity before the end of the month.
