As Nigeria marks its 65th Independence Anniversary, the Chairman of the North Central Development Commission, Barr. Cosmas Ternenge Akighir says the new commission is set to usher in an era of development in the region.
In his Independence message released on Wednesday, Akighir said they remained confident of providing “a future where every community in North Central thrives”.
He said that the commission would play pivotal role in driving sustainable growth and prosperity across the North Central region.
“Fortunately, the just-approved, long-awaited NCDC budget by the National Assembly yesterday 30th September, 2025 marks a significant milestone. This vital funding will accelerate the development projects, infrastructure, and initiatives critical to transforming the North Central region,” he added.
The chairman assured the six states in the zone that “the NCDC is poised to harness these resources to unlock the region’s potential, improve livelihoods, and foster lasting peace and progress”.
