According to the bulletin, Oloyede disclosed this during a meeting with the leadership of the Committee of Pro-Chancellors of State Universities.

“Some ‘graduates’ had never entered the four walls of a university owing to the endemic corruption in the system but the board had documented over 3,000 of such cases.

“Illegal admission of candidates into tertiary institutions in the country is an embarrassment and a disservice to the nation,” he was quoted as saying.

Oloyede decried the menace of illegal admissions into tertiary institutions and its negative effect on the nation, saying JAMB would continue to sanitise the admission process and urged the institutions to plug loopholes in their own end to save the country from more embarrassment.

It could be recalled that in December 2023, the House of Representatives Committee on Basic Education had requested JAMB to present to it a list of tertiary institutions engaged in irregular and illegal admissions.

The examination body has been alerting students against accepting admissions to any school if the admission was not processed by JAMB.
