Jigawa Anti-Corruption Agency Records 479 Case, Recovers N385m

The Jigawa State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (JSPCACC) has recovered N385.4 million from corruption-related cases as part of its operations since April 2024.
This was disclosed by the Executive Chairman, Barrister Salisu Abdu in Dutse during activities marking the 2025 International Anti-Corruption Day (IACD), themed: “Your Voice, Our Action: Report, Resist and Build a Corruption-Free Jigawa State.”
The executive chairman explained that corruption remains the biggest threat to development in the state, noting that diverted funds have led to poor healthcare, failing schools and abandoned projects.
According to him, the Commission has received 479 complaints, investigated 110 corruption and financial crime cases, filed 20 cases in court, and handled 115 asset and funds recovery cases,
“The commission in the year under review has resolved 107 public complaints through mediation, Protected 14 whistleblowers under its policy”.
Abdu added that some senior officials and contractors were arrested or invited during investigations, stressing that “no one is above the law.”
He said the Commission expanded public sensitization through radio, social media and workshops for senior public officers, with similar programs planned for local governments.
Abdu announced plans to launch a digital complaints portal, new accounting software and anti-corruption education in schools to strengthen preventive measures.
He reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to fairness, firmness and respect for the rule of law in fighting corruption.
