
Jigawa Govt distributes fertilisers to 174 victims of farmers/herders clash in Miga
The Jigawa State Government has distributed fertilisers to 174 victims of farmers/ herders clash in Gidan Nagari in Miga Local Government Area (LGA) of the state.
The state’s Commissioner for Agriculture, Hon. Muttaka Namadi, distributed the fertilisers to the beneficiaries on behalf of Gov. Umar Namadi at a ceremony in Gidan Nagari.
Speaking at the ceremony, the commissioner described Namadi as a compassionate and God fearing leader.
He recalled that during the Governor’s condolence visit to the area, he pledged to assist the victims to ease the hardship caused by the unfortunate incident.
The commissioner added that each beneficiary was given three bags of fertilisers and added that the distribution was carried out in collaboration with the Chairman of Miga local government council, traditional rulers, religious leaders, and youth representatives.
He urged the residents to maintain unity so they could benefit from the Governor’s peoples-oriented policies.
The commissioner extended his condolences to the people and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to improving security and promoting development in the state.
In his remarks, the Chairman of Miga local government council, Hon. Bilya Garbo, stated that the Governor had been working toward promoting peace and reconciliation among farmers and herders in the area
Also speaking, Samuel Maduwake Ossai, an Igbo settler who was among the beneficiaries expressed his joy and gratitude to the Governor for the timely support.
He said that the assistance came at a crucial time, especially as the people were predominantly farmers.
Malam Muhammad Rabbilu, who spoke on behalf of the community, assured that the people would continue to exercise patience and tolerance while fulfilling their promise to the Governor to live peacefully with one another.
Present at the ceremony, were the Special Adviser to the Governor on Agriculture, Hon. Muhammad Idris Zomo and other stakeholders in Miga LGA.
