Jigawa Internal Revenue Services (JIRS) has sensitised chief accountans and financial officers of various ministries and agencies on the new digital payment platform deployed to raise internally generated revenue.
The Executive Chairman of JIRS, Dr. Nasir Sabo Idris said the Jigawa Integrated Tax Administration System was aimed at blocking leakages and simplifying payment and collection of taxes in the state.
He said that the sensitisation workshop is to build the capacity of the officials on the tax reforms, including the introduction of Single Treasury Account (TSA).
The executive chairman explained that the digital payment platform is a new window for generating invoice and tax payments in all MDAs, especially the revenue generating agencies.
Dr Nasir added that the initiative will eliminate multiple taxation, as it has harmonised all taxes.
He urged the participants to adopt themselves to the new changes as government will not tolerate any lapses.
