Jigawa Local Councils’ Speakers, Councillors Visit Defence Minister

Jigawa State Forums of immediate past local government Speakers and Councillors have visited Defence Minister Mohammed Badaru Abubakar and assured him of their unalloyed support and loyalty.

A statement made available to The Syndicate in Dutse by the personal assistant to the minister on Media and Publicity, Comrade Mati Ali, said that the former local councils officials served during the second tenure of the minister while he was governor of the state.

They congratulated him on his laudable achievements as minister, and pledged to support efforts to enhance national security.

The chairman of the former local councils speakers, Alhaji Ali Zarada Gagarawa, also expressed their continued loyalty and support to the minister and prayed for his success.

On their part, the former councillors presented a plaque to him in appreciation of his being the first Governor to pay all outstanding severance allowances owed local government councillors in the state who served 1999 to 2023.

Their chairman, Alhaji Mustafá Isyaku, said the Forum reaffirmed their unwavering support and loyalty to the former governor and pledged their continued support in his political endeavours.

In his response, the minister thanked them for the visit and prayers, and expressed gratitude for the honour.

Badaru called on them to always be patriotic citizens and advance the course of peace and unity in Nigeria, and within the All Progressives Congress.
