The Speaker of the Jigawa State House of Assembly, Haruna Aliyu Dangyatin, has donated school uniforms, books, and other learning materials to students living with disabilities.

The items were distributed on behalf of the Speaker by his Chief of Staff,  Akeel Akeel, who said the gesture reflects the Speaker’s commitment to supporting children with disabilities to access quality education across the state.

Akeel said even though the Speaker was not present at the event, “his mind and spirit are here with you, and has directed me to extend his warm greetings to all the beneficiaries.”

He explained that the support was extended not only to children living with disabilities but also other less-privileged ones.

“This initiative is part of the Speaker’s commitment to reducing the number of out-of-school children in Jigawa and ensuring a brighter, more literate future for the state,” Akeel said.

Other items distributed included school bags, hearing aids, and mobility-support tools such as walking sticks.

The Speaker urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the materials and called on parents to remain supportive and committed to their children’s education.
