Jigawa Speaker’s Convoy Involved in Traffic Accident

The convoy of the Speaker of Jigawa State House of Assembly, Haruna Aliyu Dangyatin, has been involved in a traffic accident along Gumel-Maigatari road on Monday.
Eye witnesses said several policemen on the convoy were injured when their vehicle somersaulted while on high speed.
There was no report of any death, but six of the policemen injured were rushed to Gumel General Hospital for treatment.
The Speaker was on his way to Gumel for a citizens engagement meeting in Gumel when the accident occurred.
An eye witness told The Syndicate that only the lead vehicle in the convoy containing policemen was involved in the accident.
“The policemen were taken to Gumel general hospital unconscious, but no loss of life. Only that the car was seriously damaged,” he added.
The Speaker’s personal assistant, Aqeel Akilu confirmed the incident, saying that there was no loss of life and all those injured were treated and discharged from the hospital.
