JUST IN: Jigawa APC Warns Members Against Participating In Hunger Protest

The Jigawa state chapter of All Progressive Congress (APC), has issued a strong warning to it’s members not to join the 10-day protest against bad governance slated to commence nationwide from August 1.
This was contained in a press statement made available to The Syndicate in Dutse, by the state APC chairman, Aminu Sani Gumel.
The party also appealed to the youth and the entire people of the state to ignore those pushing the protest, so as to avoid throwing the country into anarchy.
It described the protest and its organisers as agent of doom, attempting to throw the country into crisis.
The Jigawa APC said though peaceful and purposeful demonstration is part of democracy, those agitating for the August nationwide demonstration have remained faceless as such should not be trusted.
“APC believes in democratic process in resolving any disagreement or national challenges for sustainable peace and progress, not the use of any means that will end up aggravating the situation and destroying the country.
“The nature of the proposed demonstration appears to be very fragile and vulnerable for hijack by agents of destruction and criminal minded people who don’t mean well for the nation and it’s people, therefore every good citizen should kick against it
“As the leaders of the agitation for the demonstration are unknown, the participants will not know from whom to take instructions, this will make the process vulnerable to hijack by people with sinister motives which may turn it bloody and destructive.
“We as party leaders are very concerned about the current social and economic challenges, and it is time for every good citizen to join hands with government to tackle the challenges for sustainable peace growth and development, but poorly organized and violent demonstration would not solve the problem,” the statement added.
