Kaduna Govt Donates N10m To Military Veterans
Ahead the 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Day, Kaduna State Government has donated N10 million to the state branch of the Nigerian Legion.
Governor Uba Sani announced the donation at the launching of the 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Emblem and Appeal Fund, on Friday in Kaduna.
“It was an opportune moment to honour our fallen heroes, reassure their families and veterans of our commitment to their welfare, and render financial support to improve their living conditions.
“The event was also devoted to deep reflections on the heroic efforts of members of the Armed Forces in keeping Nigeria one and securing our country, as well as prayers for the repose of the souls of our fallen heroes. The conditions of the widows and orphans of our fallen heroes, as well as the special health needs and challenges of veterans were also in focus,” he said.
The governor restated the commitment of the administration towards addressing insecurity “through comprehensive and dynamic approaches that tackle both immediate and root causes.”
“We have forged a strong partnership with federal security forces to secure Kaduna State. Our administration has also created a private sector driven Kaduna State Security Trust Fund to mobilize resources for effective and sustained execution of the war against terrorists, bandits, kidnappers and other criminal elements.”
“Recently, I signed certificates of occupancy for two parcels of land for the Nigerian Air Force to establish an air wing and construct post-service housing in Kaduna City.”
“We also supported the Nigeria Defence Academy Biodiversity Conservation Centre with 10,000 seedlings, showcasing our armed forces’ innovativeness in combating climate change.”
Uba Sani urged public spirited individuals and corporate organisations to support the veterans and families of fallen heroes.
