Kano Governor To Join APC On Sunday
Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf is set to defect from the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, on Sunday.
A report by Daily Nigerian said that the governor disclosed the date on Thursday during a closed-door meeting with members of the Kano State House of Assembly.
A participant of the meeting who pleaded anonymity said the governor will resign from the NNPP on Saturday, join the APC on Sunday and receive the party’s membership card on Monday.
The governor also informed the meeting that he had negotiated 60 percent stake with the national headquarters of the party.
He added that a committee will be inaugurated to work out modalities on how he would take a majority stake in the upcoming congress.
