Kano Govt cautions youths against disrupting peace 
Kano State Government has cautioned youths in the state against actions that could disrupt peace in communities in the state.
The state’s Commissioner for Internal Security and Special Services, retired Air Vice Marshal Ibrahim Umar, said this when he led a team of security operatives to Kurna Tudun Fulani, one of the most densely populated areas in Dala Local Government Area (LGA) of the state.
This is contained in a statement by the Ministry’s Director on Public Relations and Enlightenment, Mr Muhammad Dahir.
Dahir said that the visit was sequel to a security tip that some unscrupulous youths had been terrorising the community, leading to the loss of property and death of many innocent persons in the area.
He quoted the commissioner as expressing dismay over a recent clash among youths leading to the death of one Abba Sa’idu Mai hula.
“He said that since the inception of the present administration under the leadership of Gov.Abba Yusuf, measures have been taken to ensure all unemployed youths have been provided with skills acquisition training with a view to making them be self-reliant and relevant in the society.
“The security issue is the work of everyone, as such, all hands must be on deck to safeguard the life of the citizenry,” he said.
He advised every household in the area to wake up and join hands with security agencies and report suspicious characters invading the area to tackle the security challenges squarely.
Speaking, the ward head of the area, Malam Usaini Ibrahim Tudun Fulani, appealed to the government to apply new strategies toward curbing security challenges in the area.
The ward head proposed the conversion of a plot being used as a refuse dump to a police outpost, adding that this would help in bringing security closer to the people for better results.
The commissioner was conducted round the refuse dump by some elders in the area under the leadership of the ward head, and the commissioner promised to advise the government appropriately on the said proposal.
