Katsina Governor go after miscreants, summon security meeting
Governor Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina State on Wednesday met with security chiefs after he led an operation against miscreants terrorising residents of Katsina, the state capital.
The Tuesday night raid was conducted by security agents in Sabuwar Unguwa, Sharar Pipe, Dan Hako, Filin Polo, Kofar Guga and Tudun Matawalle areas of the city.
The Chief Press Secretary to the Katsina Governor, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, in a statement, said that the operation lasted about an hour and 30 minutes between 10 -11:30 pm.
“The criminals, in recent months, have been terrorizing residents of the aforementioned areas and other parts of the Katsina metropolis. They specialize in snatching phones and extortion,” Mohammed said.
He however did not say how many suspected criminals were arrested and properties recovered.
Radda who met with security chiefs in the state on Wednesday, expressed concern over the resurgence of security challenges in the state and told security personnel to with the hooligans ‘mercilessly’.
He told the security chiefs to be more proactive in carrying out their statutory responsibilities and take measures to safeguard the people.
