Katsina Govt Appoints Ex-Immigration Controller As Commandant Road Traffic Authority
Katsina State Government has appointed a retired Controller of Immigration, Dahiru Mani Bagiwa as the new Commandant of the state safety and road traffic authority.
Bagiwa’s appointment was contained in a letter dated June 16, 2025, signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Abdullahi Garba Faskari.
The government expressed confidence in Bagiwa’s capacity to serve the state with honesty and diligence, and in the best interest of the service.
The Syndicate reports that Katsina State Safety and Road Traffic Authority (KASSAROTA) is responsible for maintaining law and order on the roads, ensuring safety, and enforcing traffic regulations.
Its primary goal is to provide safety services to road users in Katsina State, so as to reduce accidents and traffic offences.
KASSAROTA currently operates in 13 out of the 34 Local Government Areas of the state.
