Katsina Hospital Attack: Gunmen Injure 2, Abduct 3
Police have confirmed the attack on General Hospital Kankara in Katsina State by gunmen, on Tuesday night at about 8:20 pm.
A medical doctor and one other person were injured in the attack while three people were abducted.
The attack was however repelled by policemen, forcing the gunmen to evacuate from the hospital with their three hostages.
Those injured, Dr. Murtala Saleh Dandashire and one Kamala Suleiman, are said to be responding to treatment at the hospital.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Aliyu Abubakar Musa, has condemned the attack and ordered a crack team of policemen to investigate the matter, track the gunmen, and rescue the three abducted people.
The Syndicate recalls that on December 11, 2020, over 300 students of Government Science Secondary School Kankara were abducted by a gang of gunmen on motorcycles.
The abducted students were released on December 18, 2020 after a deal between government and the gunmen.
