Kebbi Earmarks ₦580.32bn for 2025 Fiscal Year

Gov Nasir Idris proposes ₦580.32bn budget for 2025

 

Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State, on Wednesday, presented a budget of ₦580.32 billion for the 2025 fiscal year to the State House of Assembly for its approval.

A total of ₦453 billion of the budget will go to capital projects, and ₦127 billion as recurrent expenditure.

Tagged “Budget of Economic and Infrastructural Consolidation,” the governor said it was aimed at consolidating the economic gains recorded so far, improving the business environment, and enhancing the living standard of the people.

“We expect to fund this budget with an estimated Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of N25.98 billion,” he said.

“This budget will ensure the ease of doing business, massive changes in our judiciary, and sustained urban and rural renewal efforts. We will also prioritize food security, poverty reduction, and empowerment schemes.

“Our administration is committed to transparency, accountability, and the rule of law. We will leverage technology to boost agriculture, security, and mineral resources exploitation.

“I am confident that this budget will guarantee numerous opportunities for our people, despite the challenges we face. We will build on the successes of the 2024 budget, which has helped us fulfill our campaign promises and achieve massive infrastructural development,” the Governor said.

He appreciated the cooperation and commitment of the State House of Assembly and look forward to the speedy review and passage of the budget.

Responding, the Deputy Speaker, Mohammed Samaila Bagudo, assured the governor of the legislature’s commitment to the speedy passage of the 2025 Appropriation Bill.
