Kebbi Govt To Critics: Your Campaign of Calumny Will Fail

Kebbi State Government has responded to the flurry of criticisms by the opposition saying the attempts to tarnish its image and that of Governor Nasir Idris will fail.

Addressing a press conference in Birnin Kebbi on Friday,  the state Commissioner for Information and Culture, Yakubu Ahmed Birnin Kebbi said no amount of blackmail would distract the government from the discharge of its responsibilities to the public.

He said the deliberate diabolical campaigns of calumny being perpetrated by the opposition was disheartening, sad and unfortunate.

The Commissioner said even though they have the right to oversight the state government, that should be done with decorum and not deceitful envy.

He accused the opposition of going beyond the basic tenets of democracy in their actions and said their efforts would fail as the governor has earned an indestructible reputation for himself and his administration in the last two years.

“This is evident in the myriad of infrastructural revolution that the Governor has been able to achieve from 2023 to date,” Birnin Kebbi said.

He also addressed the misinformation contained in a viral videos alluding to the failure of the state government to ramp up the provision of the basic healthcare needs of the people.

He said the governor has been unrelenting in meeting the yearnings and aspirations of the people of the state and to propel the state to greater heights.
