KTSG Partners French Firm To Expand Access To Sustainable Electricity
Katsina State Government has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ocean Solutions Energie to expand access to sustainable electricity.
The State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, and his Special Adviser on Power and Energy, Dr. Hafiz Ibrahim Ahmed signed the MoU in Paris, France.
Chairman of Ocean Solution Energie, Mr Minkaila Salami signed for the company.
Ocean Solution Energie, a French based company, specialises in co-development of renewable energy projects in Africa.
The Governor said the initiative will focus on providing reliable renewable energy to local communities and will serve as a model for future.
He said that the government plans to establish a mini hydro power station on pilot basis before utilising the 43 dams to generate electricity for local communities and small and medium scale enterprises.
Governor Radda said that the pilot hydro power project located in Danja Dam is designed to provide energy to critical local infrastructure, including irrigation systems, water treatment plant, SMEs and households.
In his remarks, the chairman of the company said they shared the vision to provide renewable energy solutions in Katsina State, and support Nigeria’s commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2060.
