Kwankwasiyya hails national unity as top leaders converge at 10th Sallah celebration

The Kwankwasiyya Movement has expressed appreciation to prominent political leaders and dignitaries from across Nigeria who attended the 10th edition of its Sallah Kalankuwa entertainment activities, describing the gathering as a strong signal of national unity and political convergence.
In a statement issued on Monday, the spokesperson for the movement, Dr Habibu Sale Mohammed, said the event attracted a diverse array of influential figures, reflecting growing collaboration among leaders committed to Nigeria’s progress and the statesmanship of its leader, Sen. Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso.
Among those in attendance were Gov. Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, former governor of Anambra and ADC party chieftain, Mr Peter Obi and ex-governor of Bayelsa Senator Seriake Dickson, and traditional rulers, party leaders, and stakeholders from various parts of the country.
“We are deeply honoured by the presence of such distinguished personalities whose participation added immense value and meaning to the event,” Mohammed said.
He said that although the gathering was conceived primarily as a cultural and entertainment platform to celebrate the spirit of Sallah, its broader significance was evident in the calibre of attendees.
“What we witnessed goes beyond celebration. The diversity and national spread of participants reflect a shared aspiration for a more inclusive, just, and forward-looking Nigeria,” he stated.
The movement also highlighted the participation of leaders from different political platforms, including members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), led by Hajiya Najaatu Bala Mohammed and the Kano state party Chairman, Hon. Musa Ungogo; the National Chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP); as well as the NNPP’s Vice Presidential Candidate in the last election, Bishop Isaac Idahosa, and other stakeholders.
According to Mohammed, the convergence of leaders across party lines underscores evolving political relationships and growing mutual respect among progressive actors, and displays Senator Kwankwaso as a symbol of national unity and a leader that can unite the country.
“This gathering sends a strong message that constructive engagement and collaboration across political divides are both possible and necessary for national development,” he said.
He added that such interactions could play a significant role in shaping Nigeria’s political direction ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“As we approach the next electoral cycle, platforms like this help build trust, encourage dialogue, and lay the groundwork for strategic alignment in the national interest,” Mohammed said.
The Kwankwasiyya Movement reaffirmed its commitment to promoting unity, good governance, and people-centred leadership through inclusive engagements.
“We will continue to create credible platforms that bring Nigerians together, strengthen national cohesion, and inspire collective action toward a better future,” he said.
Mohammed concluded by thanking all guests and participants, especially the Kano State chapter of the Kwankwasiyya, for their contributions to the event’s success.
“We sincerely appreciate everyone who honoured our invitation and helped make this edition of the Sallah Kalankuwa a resounding success,” he added.
