The leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Jigawa State, Alhaji Sule Lamido has joined the movement to form a mega coalition to oust President Bola Tinubu from power in 2027.
The Syndicate reports that Lamido who had previously said the PDP is strong enough to go into any election and will not join the coalition, has now shifted ground.
This was confirmed by the PDP Chairman in Jigawa state, Dr Aminu Abdullahi Taura.
“Presently, there is an ongoing meeting between our leaders and the leaders of the coalition group in Abuja. Our leader, Alhaji Suke Lamido is in Abuja since Monday on the formation of a solid movement that can confront the APC,” he said.
Taura who addressed newsmen in Dutse on the matter, said the state PDP has set up coordination committees at state, local government, ward and polling unit levels to drive the coalition process.
“After due consultations and discussions, we have resolved and agreed to join the coalition for the sake of Nigeria and Nigerians, so as to send out the present bad APC government and restore national security, peace, unity and stability.
“After taking the decision to join the coalition, we met and inaugurated the state coordinating committee to oversee the process under my humble self. And as you can see, we also inaugurated the same at the local government level.
“The local government committees have been mandated to go to wards and polling units and form same committees,” Taura said.
According to him, even members of the ruling APC are joining the coalition to unseat President Tinubu “and all other bad leaders”.
Taura called on PDP members in Jigawa to remain united and await further development.
