Leopard strays into Delhi home, injures 3 persons
A leopard strayed into a residential area in Delhi on Monday morning and attacked at least three persons before it was caught by local authorities with the help of residents.
The injured were admitted to a local hospital, according to a Delhi government official.
The wild big cat entered a house at Jagatpur village in North Delhi Wazirabad area, prompting locals to call the police and other government authorities for help.
Before the police and the fire brigade personnel arrived at the scene, the big cat had already attacked three men inside the house.
The residents locked the leopard in a room from where the local authorities evacuated and later released it in a nearby forest.
The Jagatpur village is located next to the Wazirabad Biodiversity Park.
In 2016, an adult leopard strayed into the village, but was captured by forest department officials and transferred to Rajaji National Park in the northern hilly state of Uttarakhand.
