Livestock: Leading Brazilian Firm Explores Investment Opportunities in Kebbi

 

Top executives of a Brazilian conglomerate will arrive Birnin Kebbi on Monday to explore areas of investment in the livestock sector in Kebbi state.

The visit is a follow up to the one undertaken to Brazil earlier this year by a delegation of Kebbi state government headed by the Deputy Governor, Senator Umar Abubakar.

Officials of the Brazilian firm, JBS S.A, one of the world’s largest meat processing companies, will be led to the state by the Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission, Hajiya Aisha Rimi.

The visit is to concretize collaboration and open new vista in livestock development, meat processing and animal health.

They are expected to meet with Governor Nasir Idris and visit key livestock areas in the state, a statement by the governor’s spokesman, Yahaya Sarki said.

Kebbi State has been pushing to attract investment in its vast livestock sector, so as to inject technology, current advancements, resources and expertise to maximise the benefits in the sector.

Commissioner of Animal Health, Husbandry and Fisheries Alhaji Kabiru Alaramma, had in a statement said the state was eager key into the world stage of international livestock investment.

It could be recalled that officials of the state government have undertaken coordinated foreign trips to woo investors to the state.

A week ago, the Indonesia Ambassador to Nigeria was in the state to explore opportunities for investment in the livestock sector.
