A man in Lagos State has reportedly jumped into a melting pot at a company in Ikorodu area o
The police said that the 25-year-old man was a temporary staff of the company before he jumped to his death on August 3, 2024.
Both his family and colleagues are yet to come to terms with the situation as police commenced investigation to unravel the mystery behind the action of the deceased.
The Police Command in Lagos State did not give the name of the victim, but its spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday the company’s safety officer, reported the matter to Sagamu Road Police Division on 3 August, at about 6 p.m.
The report indicated that the man, working in the company’s AOD Section, jumped into the iron melting pot, which usually was out of bound to all the staff membersduring operation.
“He jumped into it and all efforts made by his colleagues to stop him proved abortive, while his body was completely melted.
“Detectives from the station visited the scene of the crime. The family of the deceased has since been contacted while investigation is ongoing,” Hundeyin said.
