NDA Commandant Lauds Military Ties With Liberia As Country Marks 178th Independence Anniversary

The Commandant of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Major General Abdul K Ibrahim, has congratulated the government and people of Liberia on the occasion of the country’s 178th Independence anniversary.
The Commandant made the commendation during a symbolic event held at the NDA Headquarters, Afaka, Kaduna, during which two Liberian cadets currently undergoing training at the Academy were honoured.
Major General Ibrahim praised Liberia’s steadfast commitment to peace, democratic governance, and regional cooperation.
He underscored the historical and strategic military ties between Nigeria and Liberia, describing the enduring relationship as a model of bilateral and regional collaboration.
“The presence of Liberian cadets here at the NDA is a testament to the strong and mutually beneficial ties between our two nations,” the Commandant said.
“It also reflects our shared commitment to the ideals of peace, security, and sustainable development across West Africa.”
He further commended the Liberian cadets for their exemplary conduct, discipline, and pursuit of academic and military excellence, adding that their performance epitomises the spirit of unity and cooperation the NDA strives to promote among allied nations.
Major General Ibrahim reiterated the NDA’s commitment to fostering international military cooperation, noting that the Academy has a long-standing tradition of hosting foreign cadets from friendly nations as part of its broader mandate to promote regional stability and shared security values.
The event culminated in a symbolic independence anniversary cake-cutting performed by the celebrant allied cadet, cadet JS Flomo, the Commandant and senior officers of the Academy, signifying unity, camaraderie, and the enduring spirit of international friendships.
