NDA student shines at COAS National Art Competition

A student of the Nigerian Defence Academy Boarding Secondary School, Stephanie Nnadozie Chizaram, has emerged second in the just concluded annual Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Literary, Poetry, Art, and Essay Competition.

The competition was initiated to promote intellectual growth, stimulate creativity, and uncover hidden talents in young Nigerians.

This year’s event with the theme “The Nigerian Army: Securing the People and Promoting Development,” drew participants from primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions across the six geopolitical zones.

Chizaram emerged as the second overall best student in the Art category. Her entry, a paiting, was adjudged to have expressed the theme of the competition.

Another student of the school also emerged among the best 10 in Poetry category.

The school hailed Chizaram for the feat, and said efforts would continue to be made in providing quality education to students and positioning the school for national and international recognition.

It expressed appreciation to the Commandant of the Nigerian Defence Academy, Major General AK Ibrahim for his support, purposeful leadership and guidance.

The Syndicate reports that Chizaram received the award from the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Gen OO Oluyede on July 5, during the Nigerian Army Day Celebration Lecture and Award, held at the NDA Auditorium.

The event was attended by former Chiefs of Army Staff, the Chief of Defence Intelligence, Principal Staff Officers from Defence and Services Headquarters, Corps Commanders, NDA Commandant and other Commandants of Tri-Service and Military Training Institutions.

Also present were General Officers Commanding, retired senior officers, military and paramilitary personnel, other distinguished Nigerians and the media.
