Niger State Govt to Establish Fruits Market in Minna

Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has revealed that the state government will establish a fruits market in Minna to boost its cultivation in the state.

The Governor, who stated this when he received members of Niger State Fruit Sellers Association at the Government House Minna, added that the market will boost local economy and reduce poverty.

Bago reiterated his administration’s commitment to agriculture and appreciated the association for giving him 3,000 orange seedlings to plant.

The governor again emphasised the need for people to venture into farming business as a major source of income because of its huge potential.

The Chairman, Niger State Fruit sellers Association, Alhaji Salisu Muhammad said their visit was to appreciate the governor for his efforts in the area of agricultural mechanization and support to the association, which has enhanced their business.

He said members of the association are willing to plant the over 3,000 orange seedlings they brought to the governor, to encourage him to engage in fruit production.
