NNPP suspends 4 Kano federal lawmakers for anti-party activities 
The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has suspended four Kano federal lawmakers for alleged anti-party activities.
The State’s Chairman of the party,Alhaji Hashimu Dungurawa, said this on Monday in Kano when he briefed newsmen.
Dungurawa stated that the suspended lawmakers included Sen. Kawu Sumaila (NNPP-Kano), Rep.Ali Madakin Gini (NNPP-Kano), Rep. Sani Rogo (NNPP-Kano) and Rep. Kabiru Rurum (NNPP-Kano).
He said the lawmakers were elected on the NNPP platform but had “recently been acting contrary to the party’s wishes, beliefs and values.”
Dungurawa stated that they were given complementary tickets during the party’s primary elections but began to work against the party’s interests after being elected.
He cited a recent event where Sen. Kawu Sumaila commissioned projects at his university in Sumaila without inviting party members describing it as a clear indication of their anti-party activities.
He said a committee would be set up to investigate the issue and address it once and for all.
The chairman, however, said that despite the suspension, there was still room for dialogue, and that if the suspended members repented and sought forgiveness, the party would consider their plea.
