‘No NIN, no mobilisation’ — NYSC tells prospective corps members

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), says prospective corps members must henceforth present their National Identification Numbers (NIN), before they are allowed to register for the one year mandatory national service.

This wwas announced by the NYSC Director General, Brigadier General Y.D. Ahmed, after a meeting with the  National Identification Management Commission (NIMC) Director General, Abisoye Coker-Odusote, on Wednesday in Abuja.

Ahmed said the collaboration with NIMC on corps mobilisation would strengthen the online registration process for NYSC.

He added that the NYSC Integrated System, which was introduced in 2014, has tremendously assisted the scheme in its mobilisation process.

In her remarks, the NIMC Director General promised to collaborate with the NYSC to enhance the integrity of the scheme.

Coker-Odusote lauded NYSC’s mobilisation protocols and efforts towards moulding corps members for leadership responsibilities since its establishment over 50 years ago.

The NIMC boss said the synergy will simplify the entire mobilisation process and address multiple issues.
