North Adopts Turaki As Consensus PDP National Chairmanship Candidate
In a landmark development, Northern stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have formally endorsed Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN, former Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, as the consensus candidate for the position of National Chairman.
Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State announced the Northern caucus decision after their meeting in Abuja.
The decision, emerging from intensive consultations at the just concluded Northern PDP stakeholders’ meeting in Abuja, the group unanimously presented Turaki as a unified front ahead of party’s 2025 elective national convention scheduled for November 15-16 in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The endorsement follows a weekend gathering of Northern PDP leaders, where the chairmanship slot was zoned to the North-West geopolitical zone to promote regional balance and party cohesion.
