NSCDC arrests vandals of critical national asset, rustler in Jigawa

Seven people have been arrested in Gumel local government area of Jigawa state for vandalising electricity installations, the state command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) said on Thursday.
The newly posted state NSCDC commander, Bala Bawa Boddinga, told newsmen in Dutse that another suspect was arrested with stolen livestock in an intelligence-led operation.
He said that the suspected rustler, Adamu Hassan of Kantamari village in Guri local government, was arrested with 11 livestock in a Sharon bus in Malam Madori local government area.
“During preliminary investigation, we also recovered various items including a motorcycle, bow and arrow and machete with him,” Boddinga said.
The commandant said that the seven arrested in Gumel for the vandalism of critical national asset were aged between 17 and 37.
Boddinga pledged to protect all critical national assets in the state and contribute towards taking out criminal elements, and urged law-abiding citizens to cooperate with the corps.
He directed all divisional Inspectors and commanders to intensify efforts against criminals and cooperate with other security agencies and stakeholders to make Jigawa state safe for all.
