NSITF tasks employers on innovative solutions for safe working environments

The Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), has urged employers of labour and employees to provide innovative solutions to create safe and healthy working environment.
Mr Usman Haruna, an official of the Fund in Katsina Office, said this during a road walk to commemorate the 2025 World Day for Health At Work, on Monday in Katsina.
The theme of the event is: ‘Revolutionising Health and Safety: the Role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Digitalisation at Work’.
He said the road walk was designed to create awareness and enlighten the people on the importance of precautionary measures to make work places safe and healthy for workers.
Haruna said the NSITF conducts monthly visitation to work places to assess safety standards and advise workers and employers accordingly.
“We visit some companies to see practices that may be harmful to the workers, sometimes, such practices may be due to negligence either on the part of employers or the employees,” he said.
He stressed the need for proactive safety measures in work places to encourage productivity.
