Iranian officials say its nuclear sites were evacuated before the US attacks on Saturday, assuring that there should be no fear of radioactive materials into the atmosphere.

According to a report by IRNA news agency on Sunday, Iran evacuated the materials from the three nuclear sites prior to the US  attack.

“Part of the Fordo nuclear site area was subjected to an aerial attack by enemy forces,” IRNA reported, citing the Qom provincial governor’s office.

Also, the deputy security and law enforcement governor of Isfahan confirmed the attacks near the nuclear facilities in Isfahan and Natanz, IRNA added.
A senior Iranian security official was quoted as saying “nothing strange or unbelievable has happened. Iran has been anticipating an attack on Fordow for several days. The nuclear sites have long been evacuated, and there is no irreversible damage”.

Saudi Arabia’s nuclear regulator said in a post on X on Sunday that no radioactive traces have been detected in the environment of Saudi Arabia or other Arab Gulf states following the US strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities.
