NUJ Jigawa celebrates end of Ramadan, commends Gov Namadi for his support in hosting Ramadan Lectures

The Jigawa State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), has congratulated the Muslim Ummah on the successful completion of the 1447AH Ramadan fast, marking the conclusion of 30 days of spiritual devotion.
This is contained in a press statement jointly signed by the Council Chairman, Comrade Ismai’la Ibrahim Dutse, and Acting Secretary, Comrade Aminu Umar Shuwajo.
Shuwajo highlighted the values of compassion, unity, and civic responsibility, urging residents to support government efforts toward economic development while fostering peace, harmony, and adherence to Islamic teachings.
He called on all residents to promote interfaith coexistence, reflecting the true spirit of Ramadan. Muslims are encouraged to carry forward the spirit of giving, dedication, and spiritual discipline into their everyday lives beyond the holy month.
“The Council also commended Governor Malam Umar A. Namadi for his dedication to social welfare, particularly the provision of free meals to less privileged and vulnerable residents during Ramadan.
“The NUJ Jigawa State Council believes this initiative demonstrates the government’s commitment to ensuring that no one is left behind during this sacred period.
“As a watchdog of society and promoter of accountability, the NUJ monitored the program closely and is pleased to report its successful implementation and meaningful impact on those in need. This initiative not only strengthens community bonds but also serves as a model for similar welfare programs.
“Finally, the NUJ Jigawa Council expressed gratitude to Governor Namadi for his support during the Union’s maiden Ramadan Lectures at the NUJ Secretariat in Dutse, the first of its kind. The Union reaffirmed its commitment to continued collaboration with the Jigawa State Government for a stronger, united, and prosperous state,” he added.
